A scary night that was..! (Part 2 contd..)

Before continuing, do read Part 1 of this story else, you'll miss the spicy background of the story :-)

So, now 3 girls, 1 auto driver, his buddy and 2 police men on a lonely road at 12.00 am..here starts the bollywood movie scene.

Now, the effect of all bollywood movies started showing up because we could think of everything what the movies show. So, all wild thoughts started creeping in - "Are these policemen fake?" , " Are these 4 guys all together?", "Was all this a planned thing?", "Will these guys ask our parent's address and phone numbers and call them at this hour and...so on"!! Damn, that really frightened the hell out of us.

We got down from the rick. The police men started interrogating - "Where are you going?" and hearing the destination, they asked the auto driver in telugu - "ఈ కుడి మార్గం" ? That means - "Is this the right way? " And before that poor chap(not really poor) answers, the police men slapped down the auto driver. OMG, that's the worst that could have happened! We were just speechless. One of the not-so-scared friend of mine, asked "kya? bhaiyya, kahan leke ja rahe the aap humko?" ( I wonder how she could still maintain decency of her words by saying "bhaiyya"!!!, that was not very bollywood movie kinda :P )

And the whole episode of license checking and what not, continued for another few minutes. And the police men asked the auto driver to come to police station and the prompt reaction by one of us was "kya? aur hum kaise jayenge ghar?". He said, "we'll get another auto for you." We all were not convinced by it because we can't stand for any more minute there in a dark-unknown area and one of us said, "No , ask this auto guy to drop us on the main road and we will take another rickshaw from there". He agreed. And the main road was another 5 mins from there, but we could see a lane approaching the main road, but this guy refused to take that way.

And that scared us out of our wits. He refused to do anything but follow the police guys. Atleast I started praying and promising, "Never again I'll come this late..bas bhagwanji ek baar bacha do" :-) And he kept following the police guys. We finally reached the main road and all of us jumped out of the rickshaw in no time from all sides, we could. The not-so-much-traffic on main road relieved us a bit. One of the police guys took the auto wala to the police station and the other one , managed to get a rickshaw for us and started asking for exorbitant charges. But, we didn't utter a word to bargain. We boarded the rickshaw in less than a minute because we didn't want any more excitement in our lives at that hour

But, Na, something more was in stock for us! Some more excitement coming in! This is the "8649" episode!(Hold on to know what 8694 is :-)) Now, my extra observation powers started showing up even harder then. There was a car which I noticed, was following us for a while now. This car used to overtake us and then take towards the left and then wait for few minutes and this episode of following us repeated. Damn! As this car started approaching us, I held my roomy's hand even tighter(as if..). But none of them believed me. I was forcing that we mustn't let our prejudices blind us to the facts of the situation. So, one of us noted the car number and that was "8649"! And all of them had no option but to believe that my observation power is not that bad. This car kept following us over and again, until we reached a circle near our place, and he took a U-turn. And I could not resist sticking my head out of the auto and pinching myself to check if I'm not in a dream and and believe it or not - he waived us from his car :-)

Man, it was a crazy episode to end! And we all breathed a sigh of relief! And now, prayed even more to reach home safely.

Within next 5 mins, we reached our society. I have never ever had that glow of happiness on seeing the society gate. I'm sure the security guard must be wondering if I'm a moron, seeing the way I was smiling. But he doesn't know what it feels to reach home after so many "bollywood episodes" happening at midnight. All I can say is - the policemen were God in disguise to help us at that hour.

Thank God! We were safe. And the funniest part - When we reached home, we kept debating - "BTW, who was the hero in this story ?" ;-) Any guess?

  3. I wish this isn't a true story. Its not a good idea to rent an auto so late. But, at the same time it isn't wise not to party so late. If its gonna to be late, girls should arrange friend's car or a cab(esp from well-known cab service like cool cab). That's the only way to enjoy late night parties and reach home safely.

    Hero! o0
I would say the hero of this story would be the rickshaw-wala who dropped you safely :)

  7. I would say the hero was you society guard. And I'll tell you how:

When you were just around the society gate leaving for the place in the evening, he eavesdropped and knew were your were heading. When it was 12:15 he realized you hadn't reached home, he called up police and told them that two girls haven't reached safely yet. The police reached the lakeside restaurant and didn't find you. They looked all around, and after sue time, found you on a weird route. Since they were so pissed off searching you, the anger got redirected on the driver's face. Now when you just reached your society, with that car behind you, he fired his gun at the car warning them not to come close. Ofcourse his gun had a silencer so you didn't know. And thats how.. our hero saved the day!

    :)
